Been too busy to blog…yet again!
Long hours at the office have been keeping me too exhausted to concentrate on translating, let alone blogging. Luckily, these past couple of nights haven’t been as busy as these past two weeks! Thus, I was finally able to finish the last 5 or 6 pages of Gift, Chapter 1.
Gift – Chapter 1 (Tonigobe edit)
I’m glad to be taking the time to edit my own version of this manga. I actually finished chapter 4 months ago, but I wanted to back-track to the previous chapters. It’s a good thing, too: For chapter 1, I made quite a few changes to the dialog; so hopefully, it makes better sense. Also, unlike Azarius, I decided to go for speed (Hah! Some good that did me these past two weeks!), so I didn’t go all out in editing the SFXs.
As I (may have) mentioned before, this manga is a bit of a challenge because of the long, complex sentences. Lotsa clauses! Aki is just too smart for her own good! I’d say her IQ is probably around 180, if not more. Plus the manga in whole makes references to sci-fi novelists, scientists and mathematicians, and philosophers and statesmen, psychologists and sociologists, and musicians and music–many (I’m ashamed to say) I’ve never really heard of! However, because of that, I learned many new things… which is always fun! ^_^

UP NEXT…
I’m still awaiting for Eternia to finish the edits for Chapter 19 of Koe De Oshigoto! (I’m guessing she’s been busy as well. But, if I don’t hear from her soon, I may have to do this one myself, too!) In the meantime, during a busy non-hentai weekend, I began working on a special chapter that’s included in Muv-Luv Unlimited…I’m about half-way finished. This weekend is another non-hentai weekend, so I hope to finish the rest and post by Sunday (HST).

Thanks for visiting, as always, Ehud! ^_^ Last question first: Yes, it’s loli. To summarize it: It’s actually erotic love story between a high school student and his tutor, who happens to be a younger girl who’s a genius. First question last: I have translated the first 4 chapters thus far; 3 of which Azarius has already edited. It’s been a good 3 or 4 months since I sent Azarius the script. Doing full edits and replacing all the SFXs is an arduous task, so I can understand if it’s taking him a while; especially when normal life (work, family, etc.) comes in. But, I didn’t want to let the other people who sponsored chapters to be waiting much longer; so, I decided to introduce my edit version sooner.
Ah, I was looking forward to this. It’s looking good! The cleaner font is much easier on the eyes.

@Ehud: Err…Obviously, I wasn’t too clear… XO (LOL) I haven’t released my edit version of chapter 4, yet, and Azarius has been slow in releasing his version. I want to redo the first 3 chapters before continuing with chapter 4 and the rest of the manga. So to recap: Azarius has only edited up to chapter 3 thus far, and I’ve been awaiting for him to finish editing chapter 4; and, although I have my version of chapter 4 edited, I’m awaiting to have all previous chapters re-edited first. Hope this makes it all clearer. ^_^

Oh my, I had to learn about this through some random IRC chan…
Anyway, yeah, I’ve been slow – seeing as you’re doing the edits for free (^_^);; I believe that I will stop working on Gift altogether: I shall consider my first real editing project to have been an overall fail.
I’ve been busy with university and Yes to Freedom, but most of all I’m actually learning Japanese. Seriously. And since my blog got too little visitors for the time it required, I just dropped it… I “just dropped” lots of stuff that way these last months.
However, I won’t merely disappear from the editing scene as soon as I entered it. I will contact [some scanlator lol] shortly to ask for a bit of help in my first full translation. It is an inuboshi one-shot: simple dialogue and minimal kanji. Also, I’ll use a more conventional font and won’t edit the SFXs.
Finally, I am thinking about sponsoring the rest of Gift… to atone for my sins, maybe >.<
btw, I'm not mad about the letter; it just made us think a lot about our real objectives etc. and afterwards we dropped that project.
LOL! I’m glad you’re not mad about the letter, Azarius. (I’ve been hesitant to email you ‘coz of that!) I’ve been so busy with real life (work! work! work!) myself, that I’m only now taking the time to respond to comments. ^_^;; Have fun with the university stuff and learning Japanese. Looking forward to whatever new projects you take up.
@Azarius, which Inuboshi story? There isn’t anything by Inuboshi that hasn’t yet been translated except for some things in Daisuki! Gosyujinsama, which we will probably be doing anyways.
